Allegheny is a brother-sister duo, consisting of Richard Kusy and Susan Weisbrod on guitar and vocals. Allegheny plays a mixture of traditional acoustic music, such as old-time and blues, contemporary songs and tunes, and several original compositions. Susan and Richard have been playing together for about ten years.

Richard has played acoustic guitar since the mid-1960s. His early emphasis was on finger- picking blues in the delta styles of Mississippi John Hurt and Blind Blake. For the past nine years he has been concentrating on flatpicking, a lead style which focuses on old-time and bluegrass fiddle tunes. He incorporates both old-time and blues techniques into his backup stylings for vocals.

Susan has been playing guitar for about eight years. Her emphasis with Allegheny is on lead and harmony vocals and back-up rhythm guitar. She also plays upright bass and fiddle.
